National Council of Churches in Australia Call for Further Prayer and Fasting, September 26-27
The National Council of Churches Australia (NCCA) invite the people of Australia and other Indigenous Elders to join with them in a further special time of National Prayer regarding this covid-19 pandemic.
The NCCA invitation notes,
‘We all know the continuing impact of this pandemic, overseas and here. We are all aware of the suffering it is causing; the extent of the social and economic dislocation, the difficulty getting the virus under control and the level of many people’s anxiety. This call for prayer is both as regards the pandemic but also because of all the issues that have been amplified by the pandemic.
We are praying for “times of refreshing” and for the “healing of the land” as the scripture says in Acts 3:19. This is what Australia needs. We are praying that Australia will get a revelation of the love of God through Jesus Christ.
We encourage you to pray together in your churches, in your homes and on the hills as we lift our nation up before God.’
A National Solemn Assembly led by First Nations Christian leaders will be held over the weekend. All people are welcome to join in via Zoom, as you are able on Zoom between 9 am – 9 pm any time on both days at meeting room number 776881184:https://zoom.us/j/776881184 or www.nationaldayofprayer.org.au/Solemn-Assembly.
This is a great opportunity to show support and join a First Nations Christian initiative – listening and learning from each other.
